DAY FIVE - BUENAS AIRES, THE CITY THAT DOESNT SLEEP

"And party, and party, and party" four months traveling South America and the loss of my ipod. Should I now be concerned when I find myself singing along to hits from Fergie and the like? Am I just one cheesey song away from throwing out a fist pump high in the air?!
At 6am I have a head of sweat drenched hair and I am restoring my energy with extra cheesey Argentine pizza with my new bestys and I realise I don't really give a damn because I just DANCED up a storm!

DAY FOUR - ME AND MY THREE JUANS

My new Juan (John) home for four days.

In this time I have mastered the fine art of the "I have no idea what you are saying in Spanish" poker face. The awkward nod in smile. Sitting round the table with the three Juans trying not to look bored yet at the same time not to interested, averting eye contact at all times so that no coverstaion is projected in my direction.
Such an internal silence, that afterwards I feel a little traumatised… will I ever be able to talk again?
I really must learn more spanish ASAP!!!

Pinamar Beach - where BsAs and its lack of beach goes to swim

First weekend in Argentina I spent many, many hours lurking in a derelict, dimly lit bus terminal because we had missed our bus to the beach... but after several games of Coin Rugby* with Fortunato and a few cheeky Quilmes, at 3am we finally rode a fluro, bright green, UV lit (show us your dandruff), pornstyle bus for FIVE HOURS to go swim at a freaking beach!

Poo brown Hulk strength waves, string bikinis, and a hoooot blistering South American sun. Pinimar is uber blinging expeno and way out of my homeless persons budget, but thanks to Fortunato I had the pleasure of over indulging in its reputed, extensive array of mouth watering cuisine and have it all accompanied by the most delectable Argentine wine - Elementos Torrontes! http://www.elesteco.com.ar/

BUENOS AIRES - DAY ONE

Sooo instead of starting this blog the second I arrived (a beautiful day spent guzzling beer in Palermo park) I am calling today Day One... cus it feels tough.

I am already on my third "instant" coffee at 10am and my accommodation - sleeping on a random Argentines couch; a guy I had only met for two minutes in Colombia - has fallen through. The sky is grey, and after four months of travelling... I am starting to recognise this forgotten pinging in the back of my mind... Ahhhh it's "organisation" and "forward planning" and it's trying to weasel itself back into my chaotic mess of an existence??!!!

I have a bad case of the Mondays and I reek of desperation!
I am going to facebook the hell out of anyone who might be able to offer up a couch... homeless in Buenos Aires.
