After 8 months away, I have spent the last 4 months here without a native English speaker anywhere in sight. Here in little old Rafaela, in my giant adopted Argentine family's home. As much as I have wished (crossed my fingers, knocked on wood and whispered to the universe) I never thought my old world and my new world would ever get the opportunity to get in a mix up and that my time here would forever remain a myth! Until the Muzgrovanator (Sophie Muzgrove) took a detour back from Colombia to come to Rafaela, she must be the only tourist in history to say:"I went to the Iguazu falls, to historical Salta, scenic Patagonia, wine country Mendoza and RAFAELA!"
How awesome it's been to talk stupidly fast - that all my words become one, to reference old television commercials, slang up a whole conversations with non-sense rhymes, reminisce about NZ, brunches, fish n' chips, 527 New North Rd (our old playing ground) and the "good old times". I heart you Muzgrove...
MUZGROVE DON'T GO!
