DAY 191 - I WOKE FOR YOU

ARGENTINE EXPERIENCE TOP 10:  NO 10 EMPANADAS

Many a time in the tinsel littered streets of Buenos Aires have I arrived home around 4am jumped into bed tossed n turned for a bit and then rolled over to my old mate and casually suggested “Emapanadas?”

Not  a word of a lie, we have woken up chucked on the closest ensemble of clothes within reach and  hooned around in a taxi in search of anywhere open selling the highly desired pastry paradise! Warm and crispy meaty, cheesey goodness. Meat mixed with olives, onion, egg and the what not, there’s chicken, corn and ham n cheese just to name a few. Half the size of a drunken NZ mince pie yet 10x as tasty.

I tell you NZ we have a fantastic business venture right there!

DAY 190 - ONE YEAR BABY!!!

One freaky deaky year! I made it in this Latino hip shaking sexual eyed continent but sadly/happily today I touched down back in Auckland New Zealand! I woke in the middle of night to hug my warm delish beast of a human (aka my boyfriend) to find it was instead my ultimate partner in crime (dance with a poll) Zoedowg, the magical lady I first discovered Argentina with... This morning we are sipping coffee and cranking all Argentine beats, reminiscing about the most amazing country in the world! It seems as if as if it was all a dream, a dream in my heart forever!

It's a dream I will rediscover over and over for the rest of my life! But I still have so much to talk about, so I may be back in my homeland but keep your fingers in this pie because I am not finished yet with $1000 Argentina! Oh my wee weepy heart misses my Argentine family! My Pezfaced boyfriend, Magnificant Mario, Papapapachu, Maxi Pancho, Panchita Vicca, Martu, Putitaaaa "my boyfriend rides a horse", The Mozambique Clan (Emmmmmmilo), Tommy "singalot" and my lovely souled Santy, Kooki and Tinooooooo!!!! The Molfinos!

DAY 189 - DULCE DE SPEW

First things first I don't like sweet food, secondly Dulce de Leche is the sweetest caramelly thing I ever did taste and for some reason (unknown to mankind) every single thing I ordered off the menu here in Argentina somehow managed to sneak in this repulsive sugary oh so sweet Dulce de Leche to inside of it! It was like a toddler walking around with a surprize "poo" in its diper, just waiting for its unveiling to turn your nose upside down, your face into a screwed up anus type look and for a wee dry wretch to come up into your mouth and then slowly reside back down to your stomach.. leaving you with that lingering taste!

It started off as undeniable full blooded hate but towards the end I think perhaps I just became accustomed to just loving to hate this sugary dessert type spread (one of Argentina's most favourite foods might I add). But one day I discovered Dulce de Leche ice cream, then the next Dulce de Leche chocolates, Dulce de Leche crepes... and more and more it creeped into my life. My jagged little sweet tooth started to form, for the first time in my life, way back in the depths of my mouth, with me none the wiser... And next thing I knew.... Dulce de Leche I crave you... I crave you everywhere!

All things sweet and nasty and full of Dulce de Leche!

DAY 188 - SWAPSIES

YOU GO AND I COME. FAIR TRADE. NZ AWAITS, BUT I HAVEN'T FINISHED WITH YOU YET...

DAY 187 - I GOT MILK!

WOAH! WOAHHH! WOAH!!
Ok this chocolately goodness I have bought many a time in order to write a blog about it, but it forever got the better of me and I ended up each and every time consuming the whole goddam packet of coco enriched milk deliciousness! It's not my fault, it is just probably one on the best things I have ever tasted!

It wasn't me, Cindor made me do it!

DAY 186 - CRACKBERRY

Remember when we used words, remember when drugs, sex and alcohol were our only the addictions?

It's the i-phone in NZ, and in Argentina there is a Crack-berry addiction!
We are hung up (pun intended) on not hanging up.

DAY 185 - STEP ON A CRACK MARRY A RAT!

Just a wee word of warning - Thinking about an upbeat "fashionista" type stroll down any street in Argentina, well think again or at least wear a helmet! because these streets are crazy nasty and plain scary in high heels! In NZ we have gone for plain old-fashioned concrete footpaths, but the Argentines went for a slick rick tiled look to keep up with their european style and flair. Only problem is that with constant wear, tear and street works the pathways have got worked! Trip, stumble and fall flat in your face if you don't keep a keen eye out for cracks!

Slowly but surely always wins the race.
