DAY TEN - MOLFINONATOR! SANTA FE

Today was “one of those days”. From the get go, the moment you open your eyes you feel that nothing is going to have the ease of forward momentum,  and its confirmed when your coffee doesn’t provide its usual awaking from the dead!

Yesterday I had my first job interview an English institute before I left with Juan on an overnight bus to Santa Fe, (no work at the moment, fingers crossed something pops up).

Today I am surrounded by Juan's beautiful family… and this is when I cracked, maybe it was the relief of the familiar of Juan (a slice of NZ in Argentina) or being surrounded by a loving family, and/or the safety of a warm embrace… but I reverted back into a little girl and the tears came flowing.

I knew this day was going to come, when finally I step down from the heights of the puffy white clouds of my travelling wonder world and ground my feet firmly on the harsh reality of my predicament. The month of march is approaching and NZ is calling, my bro’s 2nd wedding, my nanas 90th, and my best friend is home for a month… all in March!

I miss my family, I miss my friends, I have no money, I have no job, I don’t know my future… but worst of all I don’t speak Spanish “Its not you its me!” and I am not able to contribute to conversations and I am sick of the sound of my own thoughts as I sit silently amongst company of these fantastically loquacious Argentines…

I want to be you! – you, with your Spanish speaking and meat eating and Fernet drinking!

I need to stick at this! I MUST!! Miss Kendra Argentina 2011

But for now until the tears dry, I am very lucky to be amongst a family of highly intelligent, beautiful, kind ENGLISH speaking Molfinos!

NINE - FERNET, MY PARTNER IN CRIME

ARGENTINE EXPERIENCE TOP 10:NO 2
Fernet;
how do I describe this tall dark stranger?
he is bitter on first taste, yet strong and dependable to the "bitter" end.
he puts that certain pep in your step and the swagger into your stroll.

An italian digestive mixed with coke... aka an excuse to eat!

DAY SEVEN - FELIZ DIA SAN VALENTIN

A tribute to the first time, to when I fell in love and the girl I fell with! Argentina will you be mine?

A guide to the perfect date, ensure to repeat everyday for 6 weeks in the city of BsAs

Miss the day and wake up redick hung over and dry mouthed,  try to make plans to “site see” but settle on nothing but sipping coffee in an over populated cafĂ© and afterwards wonder the streets aimlessly with numb minds and “rise of the zombie” bodies.

After napping we begrudgingly put on our Lycras and hit the pavement running, weaving through hundreds of people on Recoletas crowded streets, exploring new territory and absorbing the magnificant city. When home, we blast music - Top 10 Argentine hits, get sexed up in high heels and smokey dark eyes and drink copious amounts of white wine on the balcony. 11pm (dinner time here) we go out for a romantic dinner for two at La Cholita’s, share a penguino of wine, a salad and salmon finished off with brownie, icecreammmm and coffee.

Whilst we are sitting across the candle lit table, we stare longly and slightly drunkenly into each others eyes… and here comes the secret to our romance… compliment the hell out of the divine vision that sits before you, her face, her eyes, her body, her outfit, her brain, her pizazz for life… lead on to talking about a potential marriage together and eating this world for ever.. every inch of this beautiful life we have! Thank spiral man, (blog tribute on this guy to come) and the universe for the privileged lives we are experiencing.

Slap on a moustache, tearing up the dance floor with the most beautiful men on the planet, dance until your drenched in sweat, soaking wet, catch many an “eye” (Argentines have the most stunning dark sexual eyes which they use to paralyse women with there intense stares). Dance some more, make many a new friend and party until the wee hours of the morning.

Go home, wake half hour later and turn to each other…  EMAPANADAS? 5am in a taxi searching the entire city for somewhere open to buy empanadas! $40ARD taxi ride later and full bellys.. this happy duo are sound asleep.

Argentina, after my fifth time here you are as beautiful as I remember, but Zoe I am lost with out you!
