DAY EIGHTY NINE - WHERE IS WOLLY?

So where the hell am I anyway? I am smack bang in the middle of nowhere, with not a mountain, hill or even a molehill in sight, nor a river, lake nor ocean. There is many an autumn tree turning yellow, a park to frolic in and a sight to see. It is like a South American Martinborough (NZ) minus the vineyards (but not the wine!) and the small town hicks. And yes mum (well actually Sean - my brother from another mother) I am safe and only a 6 hour drive to trouble (just to reassure you), the bright lights of the latin american NYC - Buenos Aires!

Come find me!!!!!

p.s. Kiwis it's a long swim
PS2
p.p.p.s. Buenos Aires I am coming soon to eat your soul!
p.p.p.p.s. I heart Rafaela and my Argentine family!
p.p.p.p.p.s. meat is goooooooooooooooooooood washed down with fernet nom nom nom!

DAY EIGHTY EIGHT - THATS THE TICKET

TAKE A TICKET AND WAIT IN LINE...

Or you can opt for #option B, and stand around like an idiot like myself and never get served.

The choice is yours really, but if you are in some kind of hurry or you actually want to get your task complete then I would consider keeping your eyes alert and looking for the "ticketing" machine.
For pizza, chemists, film development and even for visas! Apparently the staff in Argentina can not rely on their eyes alone to spot the next customer, each person needs a number... Well I guess it makes some sort of sense... but not when you are only two people alone in a chemist that is just awkward.

DAY EIGHTY SEVEN - YOU WON'T GET SMOKED FOR BREAKING RULES!

Rules are meant to be broken... And I have broken more than a few. The Argentines are the professionals, they have a formula down packed - install a law, attempt without much conviction to adhere to it for a little while and once it seems the heat is off , that everyone has turned a blind eye and focused there attention elsewhere - then all good intentions are chucked out the window and they get back to the way things were! For instance I came to Argentina two years ago, when like NZ, they had passed the bill to ban smoking in bars, at that time you saw a few anti establishment types still lighting up a smoke indoors but the general masses appeared to be on their best behaviour and taking it curbside outdoors. Today whilst NZ bar may remain smoke free, here it is as if no law was ever passed.

UP IN SMOKE

PUFF PUFF PASS ME ANOTHER BILL, ANOTHER LAW.
