DAY SIXTY TWO - WE MAKE THE BEST PIZZA HERE

PIZZZZZZZZAZ PIZZA!

In traditional Argentine spirit, in every town, place, street they claim they make the best pizza...
And in a way they are all correct... but for me from the places I've been and the pizza I have been eating
my personal fave is the Sunday Session pizza I just demolished this very evening!

The top three to try:
1: The most common and uniquely Argentine pizza - Palm Hearts and Thousand Island dressing
2: The very special Buenos Aires Tomato n' Cheese pizza accompanied by some weird bean patty thing
3: The Sunday Session Spectacular Cheese and Crispy Onion, the fricken epic award winner for me!

"Are you sure we can handle a Large between two this week? That couple can barely finish there medium!" Well this onion breath and top button of my pants popped open proves YES WE CAN! Fattys! Annnnnd I plan on doing it all over again next Sunday and any other day if I get the chance!

DAY SIXTY ONE - SOUTH AMERICAN SUNDAY FUNDAY

It should should all be part of our weekend plan... Friday night work drinks, Sat day rugby, Sat night party and on Sunday I have a date with... to go to... Something to look forward to - The Sunday Session! We all need a side kick, to have each others backs, to distract each other from the bad thoughts penetrating our minds like head lice - What we haven't achieved this week or ohh crap its Monday tomorrow -  "Oi snap out of it!"

Even though your body is telling you to stay home and watch movies on a Sunday, get outside, even if it is raining - ACTIVITY PLUS is essential. Go for an aimless walk around the deserted streets, go take pictures, watch a sports game at a pub, read a book somewhere like a cafe or in a park wrapped up in warm clothes with a hot coffee!

Basically open your door, sniff the air in hard and
GO EAT THE WORLD!

I have a partner in crime and a set date, that every Sunday after a bike ride and photo session we go to this beautiful old pizza bar in town, we sit  surrounded by a diverse range of locals from golden oldies to groups of friends. It's not your usual haunt - it's a R.S.A type deal. It is so comforting in its non pretentiousness. We order pints of ice cold beer served in cooky old fashioned glasses and then we devour one hell of a tasty super cheesey and onion packed pizza and just talk a whole lot of bullshit! great, great times!

DAY SIXTY - GET YOUR FINGERS A TAPPING!

By far Argentinas best export and better than spooning your pillow as a comfort mechanism to help you sleep at night. Let me introduce you to who keeps me entertained in bed on a nightly bases... With the help of Argentinas brilliance I have had lesbian relations with Natty in Black Swan, been bedazzled by Chuck Basses charm and smokey voice in Gossip Girl - but nothing competes with smoothing voice of David Attenborough in BBC Life, I have also fulfilled every vampire fantasy I ever dreamed "bite me"  in True Blood, I have hooned around in fast cars and chuckled along to British sarcasm in Top Gear,  sung along with my arms high in the air to the beginning of Two and a Half Men (isn't it freaking how jake grows old in a matter of seconds in the theme song?) "men, men, men, manly men, men wahoohooo hoo hoo hooo hooo"and lets not forget the extensive archive of classic brat pack 80's movie's!

DAY FIFTY NINE - NATIONAL... I MEAN FLAG PRIDE!

Blinded by the blue & white! I took a ride on my bike today 20 blocks to the nearby park to read my book, and on my journey (with my eyes peeled) I spotted in the streets fifteen Argentine flags! One flag here, one flag here, flags, flags everywhere! And it doesn't stop there! It is a regular sight to see it thrusted up in the air by drunken larrikins at concerts and at football matches, it is also hanging like yesterdays news - brown and disheveled from balcony terraces in the middle of metropolitan BsAs and it is in every other dairy, chemist and bookstore window across the freaking country!

And yesterday I went to see where all this flag fellowship madness began!

DAY FIFTY EIGHT - WAITING IN LINE FOR MY VISA... 9AM - 3PM!

Day trip to Rosario the third largest city in Argentina, $300 ARD spent, and a six month visa extension!

Meanwhile... in Rafaela...

(Pre-warning drunk photography below, kids don't try this at home)

Raw, unadulterated pleasure.

A jar of peanut butter! Well lets be honest here, it's actually
Indian paste but it is as good as it gets in Argentina!
And my word, my very word... for my peanut deprived taste-buds
this Indian dreamboat leaves my mouth quivering with pleasure!

To all the foods I left behind...
I salute you!

p.s I also acquired in Rosario the final piece to my puzzle - the last photo I needed for tomorrows blog!

DAY FIFTY SEVEN- FUSH N' CHOPS

FISH AND CHIPS, YEAH!
FISH AND CHIPS.
MAKES ME WANA LICK MY LIPS!
EAT THEM
BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND TEA
FISH AND CHIPS
IS FOR ME!!!

(Can't get more Kiwiana than with this song)

Meet any Auzzi whilst travelling and the first thing he will do is try mock our Kiwi accent by saying "Fush n' Chops" a.k.a "fish and chips" - and F.Y.I fish and chips is probably the closest we get to a traditional Kiwi meal besides a good old fashioned roast! Weekends spent at the beach watching sunsets eating chips out of a newspaper bag, Friday night "special dinner" as a kid - fish and chips drowned in Tom Sauce and washed down with coke, and the best option for brunch, lunch or tea when your to tired/hungover to cook and you are expecting guests.

Tonight I dabbled in a dash of Argentine river fish, battered, grilled and fried! Blue cheese sauce, lemon and of course bread to lap up the grease! In predictable Argentine fashion, it was mouthwateringly unbeatable! Must they always top my expectations with even more delectable dishes! Fatty Kendra mmm!

FISH HEADS, FISH HEADS, ROLLY POLLY FISH HEADS, FISH HEADS, FISH HEADS
EAT EM UP, YUM!
