138 - WHAKA YEAH!!!

New role as "England Teacher"... 1st up on the agenda is "Presentation - NZ". I put together a montage of Kiwiana, explained how we had some islands and shit, they put our mountains, lakes and beaches super handy close together, we have a bird that can't fly and is ugly and well umm ya know "NZ is mega awesome beautiful" (p.s can't beat NZ summer camped out at the beach). Oh and we like Fish n' chips.

p.p.s I am not in this photo, she is not my student (fingers crossed), but for real real I didn't write it... MUSGROVE!

One week I had to give this presentation 12 times! 12 times! Not the "I love English" whiteboard presentation (might have not gone down so well) but the NZ one. Ha but now I needn't worry about saying another word! My handy dandy super special (very good looking) friend who works in advertising (all flash n' stuff) put together this wee puppy to support NZ in the up coming Rugby World Cup!

DAY 136 - 10,000 VIEWS AND ALL I NEED IS A KNIFE!

It's hard work.. but someones got to do it!

Some body please find me a bottle of freaky deaky champagne and a cake! Pop the cork and do a twirl
after a couply months in Argentina knocking about with the locals, with no real "appropriate" life behaviours applied I have managed to last here a wee while and well at times it has been really really hard... I know it seems pretty breezy but I have had my shear of tears that I couldn't hold back - awkward times where I couldn't understand a thing! And let me tell you, it still happens. BUT I will never forget my friend Zoe's advice when she left me in Colombia... the first month alone will be hard and then it will get better if you can just get through that! and you know what she is right! Traveling was fun times but you are always moving, everything is sugarcoated (with wine!), it's when you decide to settle in a place with a foreign language and customs that the "rose tinted" perception of the place fades away.

Even though I had been to Argentina three times prior to this time, only now do I feel I am gaining any real perspective on the place for better and for worse I still love her and hold her very close to my bosom. ANYWAYS... what I am trying to say was... man it feels so good to be away from the pressures of my NZ self - "The Career" etc etc etc... those pressures that keep you awake at night and niggle at you like a hungry mouse on a bar of soap. There is something nice about working in a job talking "English" with people all day long about their country, my country, their customs, our customs and then wondering the streets just looking and thinking and processing life. Shit is good. But I digress, the point of all this was...
