INTO THE FUTURE
Pretty sure Argentinians have no concept of time. Used to running on a prompt 10 or at the very least 5 minute early arrival time, this place has got me and my well trained habits all out of wack! For example
"the BBQ/Asado is at 9:30pm". Don't expect anyone to be there at until 10:30 or even 11! Not a word of a lie, it is a very important side note otherwise you will be perpetually disappointed when your date seizes to ever pick you up on time. And in the organisation of an event, make sure you tell any Argentine you expect to make an appearance, that the night starts at 8:30 if you want them there by 10pm!
Some characters are worst than others, and as a pseudo teacher in a somewhat professional environment no one will be early, some will be on time and of course still in business a few will be late. Haha the very Argentine in NZ who suggested I write about this when we were skyping yesterday, she her self said "Shit I better go I was supposed to meet someone for lunch 30 minutes ago" and then proceeded to talk to me for another 15 minutes! Also you may ask why the hell am I going to an Asado at 11pm, that is a whole other blog! It would shock the pants off my grandparents who eat at 5:30pm!
